Dental whitening
Over time, certain eating habits and the way you look after your dental hygiene can lead to your teeth becoming yellow. Ardentis clinics can offer various methods of dental whitening to solve this issue and restore your smile to its former dazzling glory.
Express whitening
This is a simple procedure that targets superficial discoloration. Treatment is quick – only 15 minutes in the chair. For an instant ‘wow’ effect, we recommend having the procedure performed once a year at the same time as your plaque removal session with the hygienist.
In-clinic whitening
This technique is always carried out in the dentist’s chair. The treatment involves applying a more concentrated product. This procedure targets slight discoloration. The session lasts between 1.25 hours and 1.5 hours, as the product is left on for longer.
We recommend this method if you are short of time and looking for instant results (for example, if you are going to a wedding shortly).
At-home whitening
The difference with this technique is that you carry it out yourself. To begin with, you will need to have personalised aligners made by your dentist by taking a digital impression then printing out a 3D model of your teeth. This type of treatment provides long-term effects and takes 3-15 days. The aligners need to be worn for 1 hour a day, or all night, if you prefer. If you have sensitive teeth, we can adjust the concentration of the product to use with the aligners accordingly.
Boost whitening: a smart combination of “Clinic” and “At home” whitening
These two procedures can also be combined. Combining both types of treatment is recommended for patients who want a very bright, durable result.
N.B.:
- These treatments are not recommended for pregnant women.
- For grey or devitalized teeth (often following trauma), we carry out internal whitening, which is designed to address this issue, unlike the whitening procedures discussed above. Please contact us for more information.
Aesthetic dentistry
Aesthetic dentistry refers to all treatments designed to give patients a more attractive smile, such as correcting asymmetrical features or whitening and aligning teeth. Some treatments are simple and non-invasive, such as whitening, applying white resin or fitting ceramic veneers. Others are more involved, like mucogingival surgery or orthodontic procedures.
The introduction of adhesive techniques in dentistry has been a massive step forward in recent years. Treatments today are simpler and quicker than before. They are less invasive, and results are therefore better.
There are two types of material that can be glued to teeth in order to correct their colour or their shape. Composite resins are used for smaller operations and are applied directly in the mouth by the dentist. Ceramic veneers, on the other hand, need to be manufactured in a laboratory. Although they are more expensive, the end result is often more aesthetically pleasing and stable over time.
Our smile specialists will be delighted to arrange an appointment with you to discuss the various possibilities available. Please contact your nearest clinic.
The innovative Ardentis Smile Design health and beauty programme can also help you create your custom 3D smile.
